I’m finally back with another beauty post! If you have followed my blog for awhile, I’m sure you know that foundation is one of my favorite makeup items to test out. The Dior Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation* was recently released and it caught my eye so I decided to try it out for you. So far, the only Dior foundation that I’ve tried is the Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation, and that is one of my very favorite foundations so I figured that this one would probably work well for me too. I picked up this foundation in the same shade, 050 Dark Beige. Keep reading if you would like to see what I thought as a first impression on this foundation!
Every year, Sephora teams up with the color experts, Pantone, to create beauty products featuring the Color of the Year. The Color of the Year for 2015 is Marsala, “an earthy red wine”. When I saw the collection they were coming out with, I was immediately drawn to the nude lip collection pictured above. Keep reading to see if the Marsala Layering Lip Collection lived up to my expectations.
In my most recent haul, I picked up a new foundation, Lancome Nude Miracle. This foundation is a Sephora exclusive (for now at least) that promises a weightless feel and bare-matte finish. It is one of the new liquid to powder foundations that it seems like all the brands are starting to come out with. If you would like to see how it looks and find out my initial thoughts, check out the video below!
For reference, my other foundation shades are as follows:
Make Up For Ever Face & Body: 12
Smashbox Studio Skin: 4.1
Diorskin Nude: 050
NARS Sheer Glow: Cadiz
YSL Youth Liberator: B70
Buxom Show Some Skin: Caramel Kisses
Guerlain Lingerie De Peau: 24
MAC Face & Body: N7
Have you tried any of the new liquid to powder foundations? How did they work for you?
Maybelline recently came out with a new collection of nude lipsticks called The Buffs. It contains 10 nude shades ranging from light to dark and everything in between. Keep reading to see swatches and my thoughts on the 6 shades I picked up.
Finding the right nude lipstick can be a very daunting task for any woman. It can be even harder to find the right shade if you are of a deeper complexion because too light of a shade may make you look very scary! Please don’t walk out of the house looking like Tyrone Biggums (see above)! In this post I will be sharing some of my go-to nude lipsticks that will work for many different skin tones. Nude lips look like they should be easy, but for some ladies a nude lip can be very intimidating. The perfect nude lip can often be harder to accomplish than a bold, bright lip. Keep reading for a few tips to help you perfect your nude lip!
I love this nail polish! This is Fast Track by China Glaze. It has a base champagne color with gold micro glitter dispersed throughout. I think the contrast of the cool champagne with the warm gold glitter is really flattering. Also, it is neutral enough for everyday, but the glitter makes it a little fun too! This shade is not too thick or thin and is opaque with 2 coats. What makes it even better is that I got it on clearance! (Check out my video here to see the other clearance shades I got that same day).
What do you think of Fast Track?
It’s been awhile since my last post, sorry about that! I’ve had some things going on in my personal life that made me not feel like blogging, but I’m back now! I decided to ease my way into things with a Nail of the Day post. Today’s nail polish is Kalahari Kiss by China Glaze. It is limited edition and came out with one of their fall lines. At this time, it is still available in stores.
In my opinion, this is a very unique shade. At first glance it might look like just another nude, but in different lights, it looks different. It tends to lean olive greeen or mustard yellow, I can’t decide which one more. The formula of this shade was very nice, not thick or thin. Sometimes I find China Glaze polishes to be slightly thick, but this one was perfect. The color was also relatively opaque and I used 2 coats. Overall, I do like the polish, but it is not my favorite. The shade is just a little strange. I do think it would make a great base for a gold or silver glitter top coat and it also is a nice fall nude.
What do you think of this shade? Do you have a go-to nude polish for fall?
