Nail of the Day: Nicole by OPI Smile for the Glam-era

smile-for-the-glam-era

Today’s nail of the day is Smile for the Glam-era by Nicole by OPI. It is apart of the Kardashian collection. This shade is very unique. It is a blackened purple base with magenta and silver micro glitter. At first glance, it looks almost black, but in the sun the shimmer is really apparent.  This applied pretty opaquely, the picture shown is of 2 coats. Unlike a lot of other dark nail polishes that I have tried, this went on very easily and smoothly. It wasn’t streaky at all. I think this shade is a winner, and definitely a nice pick for this time of year.

Nail of the Day: Essence Modern Romance

Today’s nail of the day is very appropriate for the holiday season. The color is Modern Romance by Essence and the accent nail is Millionaire by Nailtini. I really like this combination. I used 2 coats for each of the polishes and a top coat. I probably should have done another coat of Modern Romance, because if you look closely you should be able to see that it is not completely opaque. However, I was being lazy and decided to stick with 2.  I also really like the brush on this polish. It is fat and rounded that makes it quicker and easier to apply to the nail.

Nail of the Day: China Glaze Fast Track

I love this nail polish! This is Fast Track by China Glaze. It has a base champagne color with gold micro glitter dispersed throughout. I think the contrast of the cool champagne with the warm gold glitter is really flattering. Also, it is neutral enough for everyday, but the glitter makes it a little fun too! This shade is not too thick or thin and is opaque with 2 coats. What makes it even better is that I got it on clearance! (Check out my video here to see the other clearance shades I got that same day).

Nail of the Day: Revlon Sassy

Revlon Sassy

Doesn’t this shade scream sunshine! I like the way this color turned out. I have been really into green nail polish lately, so I decided to pick this one up when Walgreens was having a sale. I’m glad I did. This is a bright, summertime, grassy green that I think would look great on a large variety of skintones. The formula was very nice and really didn’t even need 2 coats. I did 2 anyway because I always do, but it is still nice to not have to. I was never really into Revlon nail polish, but they are really starting to impress me.

Have you stepped out into the green nail polish world? Which ones are your favorites? Any other Revlon shades that you think I should try?

Nail of the Day: Revlon Electric Pink

Today I was in a summery mood so I decided to go with a bright coral. The base color is Revlon’s Electric Pink. This shade went on really easily and opaque. I almost stopped at one coat which is saying a lot for me, I always do two coats. On the ring finger, I layered Essie’s As Gold as it Gets for a little shimmer. This shade is from Essie’s Luxe Effects that came out a few months ago. It is a gold glitter top coat in a clear base. So what do you think? Are you feeling coral for the summer?
