I know it may seem like brown girls don’t need bronzer, but I am here to tell you that we do! I’m using “need” loosely, but I personally feel like bronzers really help complete any look. If you wear foundation (especially medium to full coverage), bronzers help add that dimension and warmth back to your face so that it doesn’t look like you are wearing a mask. If you want to the bronzers that have been in heavy rotation for the past few months, keep reading!
bareMinerals Invisible Bronze in Dark to Deep This is one of the bronzers that I turn to more when I have a tan. It is probably the deepest one that I have and although it has a little shimmer, it doesn’t look glittery. It gives a sun kissed look to the skin.
Becca Sunlit Bronzer in Ipanema Sun I love this bronzer for everyday. It has a little glow to it, but it is not shimmery. The swatch does this one no justice because when I apply it to my cheeks, it gives a golden, non-glittery, glow.
The Estee Edit The Barest Bronzer in Medium/Deep This one is very pigmented, so I have to use a light hand with it. It is as dark as the bareMinerals one, but more pigmented so I think it will work for skin tones that are 2-3 shades darker than mine. I like the way this one wears on me, as long as I use a light hand.
Make Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion in 30M This is a good bronzer for beginners, because you really can’t overdo it. It is one of those powder-gelee type products that looks like nothing when you dip your brush into it. Somehow, magically, it shows up on my cheeks. This bronzer gives me the most natural finish.
NARS Bronzer in Casino This one is the oldest of the bunch, but the newest to my collection. As of right now, I think this is my favorite one because it is perfect for everyday and I can use it as contour if needed. On my skin, I think the coloring looks very natural, but it definitely shows up.
Sephora Collection Bronzing Face Powder in Canary Islands This one pleasantly surprised me because not only does it show up well on my skin tone, but it also looks pretty natural (with a light hand). This one is pretty pigmented, so it will work for skin tones a little deeper than mine too. The best part is that it is the least expensive out of all the ones that I mentioned (on sale for $11 right now!).
So those are the bronzers that have been on repeat for the last few months, but I have recently added a couple more to my stash. I haven’t tried these out yet, but I wanted to share some swatches just in case you all were interested.
