Stila isn’t a brand that gets a whole lot of attention in the blogosphere, but it looks like they are trying to change that with their brand new palettes! They recently released 4 new eyeshadow palettes in celebration of their 20th anniversary, the Eyes Are The Window Palettes. All four palettes come in beautiful jewelry inspired compacts in rose, yellow and white gold toned metals. I decided to pick up two of the palettes, Mind & Spirit. Keep reading for pictures and swatches!
The first of the two palettes is Mind. Mind is an all matte eyeshadow palette that will definitely come in handy. There are not a lot of palettes out that come with all matte shades. This one doesn’t look very exciting because mattes tend to look a little boring, but this is a palette that I know I will be able to get a lot of use out of. I’ve found that higher end brands, make much better matte shades that blend easily and are not chalky. I’ve actually used this palette and the shadows are terrific. They don’t feel super soft or creamy to the touch, but they apply to the eyes like a dream!
*No primer was used with any of the swatches!
This palette contains an excellent range of warm and cool shades that will make a nice complement to other palettes in my collection. In my opinion, the standout shades of this palette are Wit, Perception, and Intellect.
The Spirit palette is the one I was most excited about! It really reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked Palette in that it has mainly warm shimmery shades, but mixes in a couple of cool shades for variety. These shadows are more soft to the touch than the ones in the Mind palette, but I haven’t actually used them on my eyes yet.
I already own two shades in this palette, Kitten (their most popular eyeshadow) and Puppy. Besides those two shades, the standout shades are Oasis, Jezebel, and Golightly.
This post was not meant to be a review, I just wanted to post some swatches and initial thoughts for you. I had a hard time finding any swatches, so I figured this might help some of you out. I can’t wait to play with these beautiful palettes!
These palettes retail for $49 each (approx. $4 per shadow) and can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta, Beauty.com, etc.
