As soon as I saw the new Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain, I immediately thought of my beloved YSL Glossy Stains. I decided to just try one of these in the shade London Posh. Prior to purchasing this product, I really didn’t have any previous knowledge on it. Keep reading to find out if it was a hit or miss for me!
According to the all of the marketing information that I was able to find online for the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains, they are supposed to be a lightweight, creamy, moisturizing lip stain. If you have ever tried a lip stain, you will know that they are not usually moisturizing. The Revlon version is somewhat moisturizing, but for me, it did not stain the lips at all. I’m not sure if the darker colors stain the lips, but London Posh definitely did not. Although it isn’t a stain for me, it is relatively long lasting. Without eating or drinking, this product lasts about 4 hours on me. Also, Revlon touts that this product is lightweight and creamy, but I beg to differ. The product is creamy, but not very lightweight. In fact, it is slightly sticky and really reminds me of the feel of a creamier lipgloss. Although, I do think it is more pigmented than a lipgloss.
Overall, I don’t think this product lived up to the claims made by Revlon. That being said I do like it. London Posh is really pretty, relatively long lasting, and not too uncomfortable on the lips. I also like the way it looks over a nude lipstick. In the future I will probably try one of the darker colors to see if it is more like a stain.
I consider the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in London Posh to be a Hit, but keep in mind that it doesn’t live up to the claims.
