Make Up For Ever recently released a new line of HD Blushes in 16 shades. On Sephora’s website they are just called HD Blushes, but the actual packaging calls them Second Skin Cream Blushes. This can be rather confusing because the blurb on Sephora’s website isn’t very clear that these are cream products. I decided to try two shades. Keep reading for my thoughts and swatches!
Cream blushes can be a little tricky. Sometimes they can be too creamy and slide all over your face. Sometimes they can dry to a powder finish and accentuate dryness. But when they are done right, they give you the most beautiful natural looking blush that makes you look like you are in your teens again! Not quite, but a girl can dream right? The Make Up For Ever Second Skin Cream Bushes fall in the “just right” category for me!
These blushes are very creamy feeling to the touch, which makes them really easy to blend on the cheeks. Some cream and/or liquid blushes are so heavily pigmented and dry down so fast that you can see where you initially applied the blush to your cheeks. I don’t have that problem with these. Although these are really creamy, I don’t have a problem with lasting power or with them moving on my face. Both blushes I tried stayed on my face for 8+ hours and I did not set them with any type of powder.
I really like the texture and longevity of the HD Blushes, but I also love the colors. I’ve picked up two shades so far and love both. Out of the two, my favorite is 425 Brown Copper. I want to get more, but right now I’m on a No Buy (see my last haul HERE). If you decide to try these you probably want to go in store to take a look at them because the blush swatches on Sephora’s website really do them no justice.
Overall, I have no complaints on the HD Blushes! They are the best cream blush I have tried thus far!
Overall Grade: A+
