NEW Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush

hourglass-ambient-light-blushHourglass has quickly become one of those companies that cause a stir every time they release a new product! They recently released the new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes and are already sold out on their website (for the time being). Sephora did an early release for VIBs, so I was able to pick up two to test out for you, Diffused Heat and Radiant Magenta. Keep reading for swatches, pictures, and my thoughts on them so far!

These blushes are definitely gorgeous in the pan! Each shade is a mixture of a pigmented blush with one of the famous Ambient Lighting Powders. I picked up the two shades that looked to be most pigmented from pictures alone (no swatches were available at the time). The descriptions below are directly from the Hourglass Cosmetics website:

DIFFUSED HEAT: A vibrant poppy blush combined with Diffused Light for a subtle halo effect.

RADIANT MAGENTA: A golden fuchsia blush combined with Radiant Light for a summer glow.

These blushes are so pretty! In the swatches they almost look like they could come off ashy, but when blended on the cheeks, they look like a natural healthy flush of color. They apply really smoothly and are very easy to blend. Because of that, I think they would make great blushes for a beginner. Diffused Heat and Radiant Magenta look very similar in the swatches, but Radiant Magenta is more pink while Diffused Heat is more coral. I prefer Diffused Heat of the two, but I like both.

Please excuse my cheek swatches, the rest of my face wasn’t done! πŸ™‚ Anyway, I hope you can see how natural these blushes look from those pictures. If you look really close you will see some shimmer in the pictures, however in real life, the shimmer is not noticeable. It is also not a type of shimmer that will accentuate pores or imperfections.

Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase. I don’t think that you need all the colors because they can look quite similar, but I think you should try at least one. After trying these two, I really want to try Mood Exposure next! If you want to see all the shades swatched, check out The Fancy Face (one of my favorite YouTubers) for a great video showing all the shades on a similar skin tone to mine.

Will you be trying any of the Hourglass Ambient Light Blushes? Which one sparks your interest?
