Perricone MD Blue Plasma Review

You may remember when I splurged on the Perricone MD Blue Plasma a little over a month ago (check out my haul video HERE). I’ve been using it daily since then so I now feel comfortable giving a proper review. If you’re interested in my thoughts and whether I think it is worth the price tag, keep reading!

The Perricone MD Blue Plasma is a “non-acidic daily peel for brightness and radiance.” Unlike other peels, this is formulated to only get rid of dead skin so in turn it doesn’t cause dryness. These are pretty hefty claims, but I think this product lives up to it!

Blue Plasma is meant to be applied once daily to clean skin prior to applying moisturizer. I use this product at night, but I have used it a few times in the morning, and I didn’t get any skin sensitivity either way. Upon application, this feels kind of cool and similar to water. A few drops is all it takes to cover my entire face. It is not greasy or abrasive at all to the touch. One thing I don’t like about the product is the smell, it has a faint fishy smell that I notice every time I put it on, but it doesn’t linger. The fishy smell is due to one of the ingredients, hydrolyzed roe (fish eggs). Fun fact, caviar is the roe of sturgeon (a particular fish)!

After using this product for about 3 days, I could already tell a difference in my skin! I have a problem area on my chin that gets tiny bumps and sometimes gets flaky. The bumps are not too bad since I’ve been to the dermatologist, but is still dry. After using this product for a few days, my texture and dryness in that area were markedly improved. My husband even noticed the difference! As I have continued to use this product daily, I’ve noticed less incidence of dry patches and my skin just looks better! Without any product on my face, it now looks more radiant! I also am able to get away with not exfoliating often because of this product.

So, do I think this product is worth it’s $95 price tag? YES! If you have skin that gets dry, flaky, or dull, this is definitely worth the money! If you don’t have those problems, then you don’t need this product. I didn’t pay full price for this because I used a 20% discount, however I would pay full price for it if I had to!

Pros:

  • gets rid of dry patches
  • makes skin brighter
  • doesn’t irritate the skin
  • cuts down on use of manual exfoliating products
  • a little product goes a long way
  • dropper top makes application easy and not messy
  • interesting ingredients that are not in the typical facial product

Cons:

  • $95 for 2 ounces of product
  • faint fishy smell

Final Grade: A+ For me, the high price is justified because of the effects Blue Plasma has on my skin!

Have you tried the Perricone MD Blue Plasma? What do you think of it?
