Review: Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Palette

I’ve really been enjoying matte eyeshadows lately. Before a few months ago, I had hardly ever done a completely matte eyeshadow look, but lately I’ve been loving them for work. Urban Decay recently released the Naked Basics palette and although I love the idea of a mostly matte palette, I wasn’t too impressed with the range of shades. When I swatched it in the store, at least 2 of the shades looked very, very similar on my skin tone so I decided to pass on it. However, while I was researching the Naked Basics palette, I stumbled upon a review of the Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Palette and I decided to give it a shot. Keep reading for my thoughts and swatches.

My Straight Hair

I got my hair done, finally! Last time my hair was done by someone other than me was back in May 2012. Needless to say, I was long overdue! My stylist trimmed about 1 inch of my bad ends off. She also colored, blow-dried, and flat-ironed me. This process took about 4 hours. I like the results and I’m surprised by my length! My hair has never, ever been this long before!

The 1st picture is when I originally got all my relaxed ends cut off. The 2nd picture is my most recent trim. Please excuse the wildness in the 2nd picture, it was a very windy day!

My Girl Cave Tour!

Late last year, my husband and I decided to turn one of our extra rooms into a girl cave for me. We made it into a closet/home office/vanity. At this point, I’m not completely done with it, but for the most part I am. I decided to show it because I love watching videos like this. Check it out if you’re interested!

Tip Tuesday #14: Fix Your Broken Powders

I absolutely hate when I drop a makeup product and the product shatters. Unfortunately that has happened to me on more than one occasion. Today’s Tip Tuesday post is about fixing a broken powder product such as an eyeshadow or blush. I just recently tried this for the first time, so I thought I would share it with you. Keep reading if you are interested in seeing what I did!

Are MAC Candy Yum Yum and OCC Nylon Dupes?

Sometime last year, I did a 5 minute makeup challenge in which I used the new OCC lip tar in Nylon. In that post, I mentioned that I thought Nylon was a dupe for the infamous Candy Yum Yum by MAC. At that time, Candy Yum Yum was a limited edition item, so I couldn’t get my hands on it. Last month, MAC finally listened to their loyal customers and decided to make Candy Yum Yum apart of their permanent line. I ordered it because it is probably the most talked about lipstick ever from MAC. Keep reading if you would like to see how the two lipsticks compare!
