Today I’m reviewing the new Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Glosses. This lip gloss is available in 12 shades, but I only own 5. (Click here to see the other shades available). The sleek and simple packaging makes them look more expensive than they are. The wand has a slightly bent doe foot applicator that is the perfect size.
Maybelline claims that these glosses have “pure color” and “clean shine.” I actually agree with Maybelline. These glosses really surprised me by how pigmented they are. They can be worn over a lipstick, but are opaque enough to be worn alone. In my opinion, the opaqueness is comparable to MAC lip glasses.
They definitely have some shine to them, but not so much that it looks like you just ate a bucket of fried chicken.
For a lip gloss, these are moderately long-wearing. On me, they last about 3 hours unless I eat or drink. They feel very good on the lips and are not sticky. If you have ever tried MAC Cremesheen Glasses, these glosses feel exactly like that. However, compared to the Cremesheens, these are more opaque.
These glosses are not drying at all. In fact, they feel pretty nourishing. If I am wearing one of these glosses, I can go all day without applying a lip balm. That is saying a lot for me because I am addicted to lip balm.
Overall, I love these glosses! I think that they are my new favorite drug store lip gloss! My favorite thing about them is that they are pigmented and feel creamy (not sticky) on the lips. The Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Glosses retail for $5-$8 depending on where you purchase them.
