The Vice Palette: Swatches and First Impressions

If you have been following my blog, you may already know that I recently purchased the new Urban Decay Vice Palette. This palette contains 20 brand new shadows in a wide array of colors. Β It also comes with a double sided brush. Keep reading for swatches and my first impression!

L-R: Desperation, Muse, Jagged, Blitz, Penny Lane

L-R: Junkie, Chaos, Occupy, Unhinged, Black Market

Bottom 2 Rows Close Up

L-R: Provocateur, Rapture, Vice, Noise, Armor

L-R: Nevermind, Echo Beach, Anonymous, Freebird, Laced

As with all Urban Decay palettes, these eyeshadows are highly pigmented and velvety to the touch. The palette has mostly shimmery shades, with a few matte colors thrown in. I love the fact that this palette has bright, bold colors, but also some neutral shades. The shades that really drew me to this palette were Chaos and Blitz so I can’t wait to try out a look with those.

At this point, I’ve only used this palette on my eyes once, but so far so good. Upon swatching, I did not have any real issues, although some of the glittery shades were a little harder to swatch and not as heavily pigmented.

Unfortunately, I cannot give a full review at this time because I haven’t tested all of the shadows yet, but my initial impression of this palette is that I will really enjoy it. This would be a great gift for any makeup enthusiast or a perfect treat for yourself. It retails for $59 (for 20 shadows) which equals out to $2.95 a shadow. Urban Decay single shadows are regularly $18 each, so I definitely think it is worth the money!

Stay tuned for upcoming pictures and/or tutorials using this palette!
