Blushes are one of those makeup categories that I am obsessed with (along with lipsticks, and highlighters). I have too many to count. I decided to show you all my top 5 blushes (of the moment) to maybe give you all some ideas if you are on the market for a new blush. For reference, my foundation shade is around an NC45 in MAC.

The first blush I have here is NARS Lovejoy. I know that this shade looks super boring in the pan, but it is so pretty on the cheeks. It gives a bronzed, rosy glow that really enhances the cheekbone. Like all of the NARS blushes I have tried, this shade is very pigmented and applies easily.
NARS Gina is probably my favorite blush of all! Excuse how messy it looks, I actually dropped it and broke it right before filming my video to go along with this post. I was really mad at myself for doing that! Anyway, the pictures here do not do this blush any justice. In the swatch, this blush comes off kind of chalky looking, but on my cheeks it gives the most natural flush of color. I wear this blush most often.
I know that swatch looks pretty scary, but please don’t be scared of NARS Taj Mahal. This blush provides a gorgeous orange-y glow to the face, especially on darker skintones. However this can be used on ladies with medium or tan skintones too, it just has to be applied lightly. This blush is not matte, it has a sheen to it that helps to highlight the cheeks.
Cargo Rome is the black girl’s version of NARS Orgasm! If you haven’t heard of NARS Orgasm blush, then I’m sure you’re not very into makeup. Orgasm is a cult product that is touted as being “universally flattering.” I don’t personally own that shade, but I do have the cream version and it does nothing for my skin. I have swatched it in the store so many times, but it is just too light for me. Cargo Rome is a darker version of Orgasm. It still gives that pinky, peachy, shimmery glow that looks great on all skin tones.
MAC Supernova unfortunately was limited edition, but I had to include it here because it is my favorite pink blush. Before I purchased this shade, I was having a hard time finding a pink blush that showed up and complimented my skin. Most pink blushes I have tried tend to look a little ashy. This shade is gorgeous. It is a mineralized blush, so it is not completely matte, but it doesn’t look shimmery either. This blush is very pigmented, so it has to be applied carefully.
I know this was supposed to be my top 5 blushes, but I decided to include an honorable mention since Supernova is no longer available. This blush is MAC Format. I have only had this blush for a few weeks, but I love it already. It is all types of bronzy goodness on my skin. I like to wear this when I want to look super luminous. It looks boring in the pan, but on the skin it is beautiful!
I also made a video talking about these blushes, check it out if you would rather listen than read!
