Review: Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Forever Fuchsia

I have a brand new love and it is my Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Forever Fuschia! This lip stain goes on with the smoothness of a creamy gloss, then dries to a matte finish.

This lip stain comes packaged in a thin tube with a doe foot applicator. For the consistency of this product, I think the packaging works well. It may have benefited from a small brush tip instead, as that would allow for a more even application. As it is now, I apply it with the applicator and then used my finger to smooth it along my lips. This is pretty much how I apply all lipsticks or lip stains.

This shade is described by Sephora as a “satin, eletric fuchsia.” I’m not exactly sure what that is supposed to mean, but in my opinion, it is a bold, deeper fuchsia. In the picture above, I was only wearing a tiny amount of product because I wanted to show you an everyday lip. More product will give you a brighter lip, perfect for a night out. I have worn it brighter, and it looked amazing.

As I stated earlier, this goes on as a creamy liquid, but it dries down to a matte in about 15 seconds. When it completely dries down, it feels like nothing is on the lips. I like that it dries down so quickly because that helps with neatness. In comparison, I have a NYX Matte Lip Cream (great cheaper alternative) that takes a few minutes to dry down and I have to be careful with moving my lips because the color slides around and may become uneven. With the Sephora Cream Lip Stain, I don’t have that issue.

light application, full face

I also love that this product lasts so long on the lips. I am able to get at least 4-5 hour wear out of this stain. I’m sure this would last longer, but I haven’t had a chance to try that yet. I have eaten and drank with this on and the stain still remained vibrant. I have naturally drier lips, but I don’t think this stain dried out my lips more than normal. After about 3 hours of wear, I felt like I needed to apply a balm and I just put that right on top. It did not affect the stain underneath. The only thing you should be careful with is that this lip stain (like all others) will accentuate any flakiness on your lips, so you should exfoliate your lips beforehand. Also, you must use some type of makeup remover or cleanser to completely remove this from your lips.

Overall, I think this is a great product. It’s long lasting, the color is awesome, and it feels really comfortable on my lips. Also, with the small amount of product that you use, it is very affordable. This retails for $12 at Sephora stores and on sephora.com. I loved this one so much, that I already went out and purchased another shade (Always Red)!

Pros

-long wearing

-comfortable texture on the lips

-applies easily

-beautiful shade of fuschia that can be applied lightly or built up to be more  bold

Cons

-accentuates dry patches already on the lips

-if you change your mind shortly after applying it, you have to use a cleanser to take it off

Final Grade: A+

I love this product! I don’t see how a lip stain could get any better! Have you tried any of the Sephora Cream Lip Stains yet? If so, what is your favorite shade?

As a fan of the NYX Matte Lip Creams, I was happy to read that the Sephora Cream Lip Stain doesn’t move around on the lips after application like the NYX Lip Cream does. This color is fierce and I love matte lips. I will definitely be giving this a try!

Thanks for sharing such a great review!

Looks so pretty on you! You should review LipSense and compare, I love LipSense and get all-day wear out of it, even through eating, drinking, swimming, whatever! LipSense is designed to have a gloss go on top, and they sell everything from gold glitter gloss to classic matte gloss. (so your lips are never dry). The colors are beautiful too, and you can layer them to create new colors. I recommend it!
