During the Chic Week sale at Sephora a few weeks ago, I picked up two blushes from Illamasqua. (Click HERE to see the other items I purchased). I have always heard good things about Illamasqua, but had never given them a chance. Blushes and lipsticks are my favorite makeup items to buy, so while I had the 15% off coupon, I decided to buy Excite and Tweak blushes. Keep reading for swatches and comparisons.
Finding the right nude lipstick can be a very daunting task for any woman. It can be even harder to find the right shade if you are of a deeper complexion because too light of a shade may make you look very scary! Please don’t walk out of the house looking like Tyrone Biggums (see above)! In this post I will be sharing some of my go-to nude lipsticks that will work for many different skin tones. This post is a quickie just to show you the new lipsticks from the MAC Fashion Sets Collection. I purchased 3 out of the 4 lipstick shades available. These are already sold out online, but will be in stores on Thursday April 4th. In addition to lipsticks, each shade also has a lip pencil, eye shadow, lip glass, and nail lacquer to match. Based on first impressions, I think I may own a dupe of at least one of the lipsticks. Let me know in the comments if you would like to see comparisons!
Today’s post is featuring a brand new product, the NARS Satin Lip Pencils. These jumbo pencils glide on like a creamy lipstick, but with the convenience of a pencil. They provide a satin finish that does not look too shiny like some of the glossy jumbo pencils. I was interested in trying these because of my love for the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. A few weeks ago, I did a video on my first impressions of the new Iman Skin Tone Evener BB Creme. (Click HERE if you missed that post). In that video, I shared what I thought of the product while wearing it throughout the day. Now that I’ve been using it a few weeks, I wanted to update you on what I think of it. The other day I posted a video on YouTube giving my first impression of the new Covergirl Queen All Day Flawless 3 in 1 foundation. I used the shade Q820 Toffee. Take a look at the video below if you’re … Continue reading
A few posts back, I posted some swatches of some new MAC purchases. One of those purchases was the new Viva Glam Nicki 2 lipstick. (Click HERE to see that post). This shade is probably one of the hardest to wear shades I own. Because I knew it would be a popular item, I decided to try it even though it is not the type of shade I typically go for. It is a very pale lavender that leans closer to white than purple. For all of the MAC Viva Glam products, 100% of the proceeds go to MAC’s AIDS foundation so I felt like it was worthy of my money. Keep reading to see a few ways to make this shade more wearable.
Today’s post is just a really quick post to show you the new items I just received in the mail just in case you are interested in getting some. I ordered 2 lipsticks and 1 blush from the Archie’s Girls collection and I ordered the new Viva Glam Nicki 2 lipstick. The Archie’s Girls collection will be in stores on February 7, 2013. I’m supposed to be on a no-buy (LOL), but I knew that I had to order a little something because I used to LOVE Archie comic books back in the day. Keep reading for pictures and swatches!
I’ve really been enjoying matte eyeshadows lately. Before a few months ago, I had hardly ever done a completely matte eyeshadow look, but lately I’ve been loving them for work. Urban Decay recently released the Naked Basics palette and although I love the idea of a mostly matte palette, I wasn’t too impressed with the range of shades. When I swatched it in the store, at least 2 of the shades looked very, very similar on my skin tone so I decided to pass on it. However, while I was researching the Naked Basics palette, I stumbled upon a review of the Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Palette and I decided to give it a shot. I love bright lipstick! Everytime I wear something bright on my lips, I feel happier and more pretty! I know, lame but true. Today’s look is showcasing Candy Yum Yum by MAC. This look can be done with any lip color, but I really wanted to show just how wearable CYY can be. Keep reading for more pictures and a video tutorial!
