OnyxBox Glam Unboxing

*content contains press sample

We Are Onyx is a website specifically dedicated to Black women and they now have their own beauty subscription service. The new OnyxBox Glam is a beauty subscription in which you get 4 full or deluxe size products and you get to pick the fifth item. Unlike other beauty boxes dedicated to Black women, this box sends more than haircare. They also include makeup, skincare, and lifestyle products. I was sent the April box for review. Check out the video below to see my initial thoughts on what I received!

The Fab 5: Spring Perfume

DSC01979-imp-imp

Spring is in the air! Spring is my favorite time of year. We get the most beautiful warm weather during this time of year, but it doesn’t get overly hot like summer. Also, my Wedding Anniversary is in the Spring, so I’m always looking forward to that. For some reason, Spring just seems to be a really happy time for me every year.

In celebration of Spring, I wanted to share with you my favorite Spring perfumes of the moment. “The Fab 5″ will be a recurring series in which I will share with you my top five items of the given category. Check out the video below to see what I’m excited to wear this spring. Below the video, I will have the notes for each of the fragrances mentioned for your perusal.

Maybelline Dare to Go Nude Collection

DSC01968-imp

If you have been a long time subscriber to my blog, then I’m sure you know that I have a thing for the Color Tattoos. At one point I had pretty much all the colors they came out with. Since then I’ve slowed down on them, but whenever they have  a new collection, I at least check it out. Recently, they released the Dare to go Nude Collection for Spring 2014. I wasn’t too hyped about the collection because I thought it looked too similar to previous items that they released, but I was interested in a couple of items. I only picked up Caramel Cool Color Tattoo and Charming Cocoa Color Elixir. Keep reading for swatches and my thoughts!

Inglot Freedom System Eyeshadow Palette 20

DSC01916-imp

Inglot currently is discontinuing their round eyeshadow pans so for a limited time they have quite a few palettes on clearance. I picked up the 20 pan palette for a little over $30 about a month ago, but according to the website now it is $61.50. That’s actually the price I thought I would be paying, but when it went into my cart it took almost 50%! I have no idea why, but it did! Check out this post for swatches and my thoughts on it!

Blog Sale!!!

I’m finally doing a Blog Sale! Right now I only have makeup listed, but handbags and other items will be coming soon. I will make sure to do a blog post when I add more items. All items listed in the blog sale are items that are still in good shape to be used. None of the items are expired or are things that I’ve used excessively. I wanted to do this because I’m in the process of getting rid of items in my house that may be better used by someone else. I’m only selling a small amount of what I got rid of, the rest was either discarded or being given to friends and family. Check out the full amount of my makeup purge in the pictures below.

Weekly Hit or Miss: Sephora Rouge Infusion

s1558758-main-LheroIn my last haul video (click HERE to see that post), one of the items I was excited to try was the new Sephora Rouge Infusion 10 Hour Lip Ink. I was really excited to try this product because Sephora makes one of my favorite lip stain formulas (reviewed HERE and swatched HERE) and I figured this would be just as good. According to Sephora, Rouge Infusion is supposed to provide lightweight but intense color payoff for up to 10 hours. Keep reading to see if Rouge Infusion lives up to its claims!

Battle of the Brands: Loreal vs. YSL

DSC01910-imp I know I’ve been promising this Battle of the Brands for such a long time, but I’m finally getting it done now! Today’s post will compare the Loreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stains to the YSL Glossy Stains. These products are both supposed to look glossy like lip gloss, but provide the color of sheer lipstick and the lasting power of a stain. Unlike other lip stains, these are supposed to stay glossy the entire time, they don’t dry down to a matte finish. The YSL version came first followed by the Loreal (which is a parent company of YSL Beauty) version. Keep reading to see which version wins this battle!
